Last year Pasco County sheriff began investigating a post card sent to a Land O'Lakes inmate with Oxycodone under the stamp. Now they have made an arrest and charged a Tampa Bay woman with the drug crime.

Pasco Marijuana Arrest Leads To Discovery Of More Than 2,000 Canisters Of Illegal MushroomsA marijuana bust that ended up netting Pasco County Sheriff’s a search warrant led to a huge mushroom-growing operation. Undercover officers in Port Richey landed a search warrant after three marijuana deals and they were shocked at what they uncovered. Inside two separate homes they found more than 2,000 canisters of illegal hallucinogenic mushrooms. Drug enforcement agents and deputies wearing haz-mat suits removed the illegal drugs from two Pasco County homes. Gerald Hannafin was arrested and investigators then went to his father’s home where more mushrooms were found. The older Hannafin told deputies he thought the mushrooms were legal. Authorities are now trying to locate who was going to buy the illegal drugs.… April 8, 2010
Holiday Couple Arrested In Pasco County On Drug Charges And Child NeglectPasco County Sheriff’s Deputies were reportedly dispatched to the home of a Holiday couple for a welfare check. When they arrived they found a woman who admitted she was high and drunk, a man who struggled with deputies, a bag of cocaine and a toddler. The two adults inside the home were charged with child neglect, cocaine possession and possession of drug paraphernalia. Maria L. Pawlowski is alleged to have admitted to the deputies she was high and drunk while Daniel J. Rapoch had to be pepper sprayed when he began to struggle with the officers. The toddler is believed to be the son of the couple and a birth announcement puts his age at three-years-old this May.… April 8, 2010

Pasco Fire Started At Meth Lab According To Sheriff’s OfficeA December 29 mobile home fire in Pasco County has led to two arrests for arson but there have been no drug manufacturing charges filed yet despite the fact one of the suspects allegedly admitted the fire started while the pair were cooking meth on a hot plate. John Lewis Cummings and Richard Alan Smith have both been charged with arson. At the time of his arrest Cummings reportedly had meth in his possession and was charged with that crime as well. Smith posted $25,000 bail while Cummings was booked into jail and had his bail set at $30,000.… March 18, 2010

Pasco Mom Turns In Her Sun For Stashing Drugs In Her HomeA Dade City 25-year-old who stashed large amounts of meth and cocaine in his mother’s house was arrested after she called deputies upon finding the drugs. Pasco County sheriff’s arrested Camron Buck for drug trafficking and marijuana possession after he showed up to the house where the drugs were stashed with two pounds of marijuana. According to reports cited in a story on TampaBay.com, Buck allegedly told his mom he was going to get killed over her calling the cops during his questioning by sheriff’s deputies. There was reportedly $15,000 worth of methamphetamine and over $4,000 worth of coke in the house.… March 18, 2010
Punta Gorda Mom Facing Drug Charges For Meth And Xanax Found In Her HousePolice officers in Punta Gorda were called out to check on the health of the mother of a three-month-old infant and during the wellness check they found meth, Xanax and drug paraphernalia. According to the HeraldTribune.com, Mandy Cheri McLean was charged with drug possession for having methamphetamine and Xanax without a prescription. She was taken to jail and was being held on $6,000 bail. Police officers report that McLean did not respond when they knocked on her door and entered the home to check on the woman. The woman was arrested for introducing contraband into a detention facility and failure to appear on a driving with a suspended license charge after she allegedly crushed up oxycodone and morphine, hid it under postcard stamps and mailed it to her husband in Pasco County jail. Pharmacist Robbed Of Pain Killers And Xanax By Ex-Con In PascoA Pasco man who has been in prison for drug charges and theft may be on his way back. Ben B. Kaminsky has been charged with grand theft and failure to appear on charges of driving with a suspended license following an incident at Doctor’s Choice Pharmacy. According to TampaBay.com Kaminsky tried to refill prescriptions for oxycodone, oxycontin and Xanax when the pharmacist realized the prescriptions were not eligible for a refill until next week. At that point the 32-year-old grabbed the pills and ran from the pharmacy. He was arrested at a motel where deputies found him while looking for his roommate who was charged with trafficking in oxycodone.… |
