Florida Oxycodone Dealer Calls Police To Report His Stolen PillsA Hernando County man has been charged with drug trafficking and making a false police report after he called deputies and told them his Oxycodone and Methadone had been stolen. According to 10 Connects, Mark Andrew Davis, Sr. told deputies he was robbed of his prescription pills after he left Nature Coast Pharmacy but according to law enforcement it was a drug deal gone bad. The suspect in the case allegedly admitted to police he was planning on selling his prescription drugs for $800 to the man who robbed him. Davis had just picked up 180 tablets of Oxycodone and 120 Methadone pills. April 8, 2010
Brooksville Marijuana Grow House Operation Nets Second ArrestYesterday we talked about a Brooksville woman who was arrested for operating a marijuana grow house in an effort to pay her bills, which in a larger sense isn’t everyone selling drugs in one way or another using the money to pay off bills? Today though Hernando County deputies have arrested a second person involved in themarijuana cultivation. According to TampaBay.com, Jeffery Scott Wagner was arrested on drug cultivation charges in connection with the marijuana operation run out of the house of Rhonda Quince, who was charged previously. Marijuana Grow House In Brooksville Started By A Woman Looking To Pay Her BillsRhonda Quince had an empty room in her house and a pile of bills. Instead of taking in a renter she decided to turn the room into a marijuana grow house. The Brooksville woman was arrested on drug charges when Hernando County Sheriff’s deputies searched her home and found 169 marijuana plants. According to ABC Action News, Quince allowed the deputies to search her Brooksville home. She also apparently admitted to growing pot and selling it in an effort to help pay her bills. The plants were valued at $150,000 and were in different stages of development under hydroponic lights.… March 30, 2010
Teenage Girl Arrested On Drug Charges For Selling Prescription Pills At Her High SchoolA 17-year-old high school student is under arrest in Hernando County for selling prescription drugs at her high school. Laura Sitaro was arrested at Central High School in Hernando Beach on Monday and was taken to Hernando County jail. According to 10Connects.com, the girl has admitted to selling According to police reports, Sitaro said she had been selling the pills for about a week and along with Xanax she was selling Flexural and Coricidin. The pills were being sold for anywhere from $2 to $5. Coricidin is an over-the-counter drug for pain-relief and allergies. Flexural is a prescription drug for muscle spasms.… March 26, 2010
Oxycodone Robbery At Spring Hill Drug Store Ends Up With Man Arrested But No PillsThe epidemic of crime surrounding prescription drugs just keeps growing. The cases range from prescription fraud to illegal sales of painkillers and anxiety medication. More and more the crimes are turning violent. Today a man was the victim of an attempted robbery outside a Spring Hill drugstore after filling an oxycodone prescription. According to Hernando County Sheriffs Aurelio Gonzalez pulled a knife on the man after he was approached by a woman asking him to sell her some of his oxycodone pills. There is no mention in the TampaBay.com story if the woman was charged as well. She reportedly drove the alleged robber from the scene after the victim ran off with his drugs.… March 24, 2010
Prescription Drug Fraud Charges Filed Against Hernando Corrections OfficerChris Abare is under arrest for collecting prescriptions for more than 2,000 oxycodone pills from nine doctors in a period of just over six months. The Hudson man was arrested on prescription fraud charges for not informing the doctors he had received prescriptions for oxycodone from other physicians as well. Abare is an employee of Corrections Corporation of America, a private company with workers serving at the Hernando County Jail. According to TBO.com Hernando County Sheriff’s deputies have sworn statements from five doctors that they were unaware Abare had contacted other doctors and received oxycodone prescriptions. The story reports Abare stockpiled nearly 2,200 oxycodone tablets in a seven-month period.… March 17, 2010
Xanax Hidden In A Man’s Fat Rolls Smuggled Into Hernando County JailThomas Althoff was taken to Hernando County Jail on charges of driving with a suspended license. He is now in more trouble. According to TampaBay.com the 33-year-old was caught snorting a Xanax pill he snuck into the jail cell under a fat roll at the bottom of his stomach. He is now facing a charge of possessing contraband in jail for the prescription pill and driving while license suspended. It is being reported a deputy saw the 33-year-old attempting to snort a crushed pill. Althoff originally said he found the anxiety pill in the cell. He later told officers of how he snuck the drug into jail inside a fat roll.… March 11, 2010
Search Warrant Reveals Marijuana, Guns And Pills Found In Hernando HomeHernando County Sheriff’s executed a search warrant in Weeki Wachee Wednesday and found marijuana, weapons, drug paraphernalia and pills. Two men inside the house are now facing drug charges. One of the men found inside the home has also been charged with violation of probation and marijuana possession. According to a story on TampaBay.com upon executing the search warrant deputies discovered packaged pot, a loaded 45-caliber pistol and SKS rifle, a scale, pills and paraphernalia. Sheriff’s had to bust through a special keypad lock to search the home and seize the weapons and drugs. Both men were taken to Hernado County jail.… February 12, 2010
Homestead Man Arrested On Cultivation Charges After Police Discover Marijuana Grow HousePolice were acting on a tip when they went to the Brooksville home of Joel Cabrera. When Sheriff’s arrived in Homestead on Noddy Tern Road they saw a moving truck that with equipment used while operating a marijuana grow house . Deputies then went inside the house and into a shed on the 36-year-old’s property and found more grow house equipment leading to Cabrera’s arrest on charges of cultivation . Hernando County Sheriff’s deputies discovered fans, air handlers, grow lights, carbon filters and air conditioning units in the man’s home, shed and truck. According to TampaBay.com, there was no mention of the sheriff’s deputies finding any actual drugs on the premises.… |
