The defendant in this case was facing a mandatory jail sentence of three years for trafficking in 25-200 pounds of marijuana. He was also charged with manufacture of a controlled substance, resisting an officer without violence and possession of drug paraphernalia. Darren Finebloom took the case and after investigating and working with his client, Darren filed a Motion to Suppress due to an illegal search and seizure. The court granted the motion stating that there was insufficient evidence that exigent circumstances existed to allow the police to search the defendant’s residence without a warrant.…

The Defendant was a 67 year old with no prior record. He was involved in a major car accident and just recovering from triple bypass surgery. A friend made advances to get him to sell her oxycodone of which the Defendant was prescribed for his pain. She eventually convinced him to sell her a trafficking amount of oxycodone and the Defendant was arrested and faced a 3yr minimum mandatory prison sentence. Darren Finebloom, after lengthy negotiations with the State attorney’s office, was able to get the charge reduced and the Defendant was given a probationary sentence.…

Drug Trafficking Ring In Pinellas, Polk, Orange, Seminole, Lake and Volusia Busted

A high-grade marijuana distribution ring that reached into six central Florida counties was busted by local, state and federal officials on Thursday. According to a story on BayNew9.com investigators estimate the marijuana distribution ring was moving $500,00 to $750,000 worth of pot per week. There are 41 suspects under arrest on drug charges most facing felony drug trafficking and conspiracy charges.
According to the story the weed was being sold for $4,300 to $4,500 per pound. David Cole of Chuluota was named as the ring’s leader. Cole was dealing pot to the tune of $90,000 a week. The marijuana is believed to have come from California where legal medical marijuana is being grown.…

Cocaine At Fort Lauderdale Airport Goes Unclaimed

Officials at the Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport are anxiously awaiting someone to claim their three pieces of luggage that happen to contain 171 pounds of cocaine. Any takers? No arrests have been made at this point after U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers found the drugs hidden inside bags that were making their way around a luggage carousel Saturday.
Customs officials are trying to locate the owner of the bags but it seems unlikely anyone will file a lost bag report for these three suitcases. If the agents are able to track down the owner of the bags, federal drug trafficking charges seem likely in the case.…

Man Charged With Drug Trafficking Has Links To Pain Clinics In Tampa, St. Pete, Orlando, Lakeland and Jacksonville

A pair of men from Dunedin and Tampa have been charged with drug trafficking for supplying oxycodone to drug addicts through their pain management clinics. According to authorities as reported on TBO.com three other people have been charged and two have already pled guilty to drug distribution charges. The pair that has already pled guilty admitted to distributing morphine, oxycodone, hydrocodone and alprazolam. The drugs were allegedly dealt out of pain center clinics in Tampa, St. Petersburg, Orlando, Lakeland and Jacksonville.
On top of the charges for drug trafficking , Troy Wubbena of Tampa is being charged with cheating more than $200,000 from Medicare.…
