Clearwater police are claiming that a woman on probation for credit card fraud and failure to appear in court was so high on illegal painkillers that she left her two-year-old on the side of a busy road on a night when temperatures outside were as low as 54 degrees. Jamie Michelle Campbell has been charged with child neglect, possession of a controlled substance, violation of probation and tampering with evidence. She was booked into Pinellas County Jail.
According to TampaBay.com after Campbell was taken to her probation officer for the child neglect charges she tried to dispose of illegal painkillers in the back of the police cruiser and also in her probation officer’s toilet while being tested for drugs use. Police identified the discarded pills as methadone, carisoprodol and oxycodone.
